C’est la veille de Noël dans l’après-midi. Sophie et Marc, un couple marié, font le point sur les derniers préparatifs pour le réveillon qui aura lieu le soir même chez eux. Ils attendent une quinzaine d’invités de la famille et quelques amis proches. L’ambiance est un peu stressante car il reste encore plusieurs choses à organiser.

Sophie : Marc, tu peux venir une minute ? Il faut qu’on fasse le point sur ce qui reste à faire avant ce soir.
Marc : Oui, j’arrive ! Euh… dis-moi, tu as pensé à sortir le champagne du frigo ? Il ne faut pas qu’il soit trop froid.
Sophie : Ah oui, bonne idée ! Tiens, tu pourrais t’en occuper maintenant ? Moi, je dois encore préparer les toasts pour l’apéritif.
Marc : Pas de souci. Au fait, ta mère arrive à quelle heure déjà ?
Sophie : Vers 18h30 avec papa. Elle apporte la bûche, heureusement ! Ben, au moins ça c’est une chose de moins à faire.
Marc : Parfait ! Et ton frère ? Il vient toujours avec les enfants ?
Sophie : Oui, oui, ils seront là vers 19h. Ah ! J’y pense, il faut que je sorte les cadeaux de leur cachette et que je les mette sous le sapin.
Marc : Tu veux que je t’aide ? Où tu les as cachés cette fois ?
Sophie : Dans notre armoire, tout en haut. Euh… Marc, on a bien acheté quelque chose pour le petit dernier de ma sœur ?
Marc : Le bébé de Claire ? Mais… il n’a que six mois ! Tu crois vraiment qu’il faut…

Sophie : Euh… attends, je compte… Nous deux, mes parents, ton père, ma sœur avec son mari et le bébé, mon frère avec ses deux enfants… ça fait déjà neuf…
Marc : Et n’oublie pas les Dubois ! Tu les as invités la semaine dernière.
Sophie : Ah oui ! Plus Julien qui vient seul cette année… Ça fait douze adultes et deux enfants. Hein, on n’a que dix chaises !
Marc : On peut emprunter celles des voisins, comme l’année dernière ?
Sophie : Bonne idée ! Tu peux les appeler ? Moi, je vais commencer à dresser la table.
Marc : Dis, tu as prévu quoi comme musique d’ambiance ?
Sophie : Oh là là ! J’ai encore oublié ! Tu peux t’en occuper aussi ? Quelque chose de festif mais pas trop fort à cause du bébé.
Marc : D’accord, d’accord… Et pour les boissons ? On a assez de vin ?
Sophie : Normalement oui. J’ai acheté du rouge, du blanc et du rosé. Plus le champagne pour l’apéritif. Ah ! Mais il faudrait peut-être prévoir du jus de fruits pour les enfants ?
Marc : Excellente idée ! Je peux passer au supermarché en même temps que le centre commercial.
Sophie : Tu es un amour ! Bon, récapitulons : toi, tu sors le champagne, tu vas acheter un cadeau pour le bébé, tu appelles les voisins pour les chaises et tu achètes du jus de fruits. C’est bon ?

Marc : Ne panique pas ! On peut toujours commander des plateaux de charcuterie et de fromage chez le traiteur du coin.
Sophie : Tu crois qu’il est encore ouvert ?
Marc : Je vais l’appeler tout de suite ! Et puis, ça sera plus simple et tout aussi bon. L’important, c’est d’être ensemble, non ?
Sophie : Tu as raison… Allez, on se dépêche ! Ce soir, on va passer un réveillon formidable !
