Clara, étudiante en sociologie, remarque régulièrement un groupe d’amis qui se retrouve tous les vendredis soir pour jouer aux jeux de société. Elle aimerait bien se joindre à eux mais n’ose pas. Aujourd’hui, elle décide de parler à Julien, l’un des membres du groupe qu’elle connaît vaguement des cours.

Clara : Salut Julien ! Euh… excuse-moi de te déranger. Tu as une minute ?
Julien : Ah, salut Clara ! Bien sûr, assieds-toi. Ça va ?
Clara : Oui, merci. Dis-moi, je… ben, je vous vois souvent ici le vendredi soir avec tes potes. Vous jouez aux cartes, c’est ça ?
Julien : Aux cartes et aux jeux de plateau surtout ! On est complètement accros. Pourquoi, ça t’intéresse ?
Clara : Euh, ouais, carrément ! J’adore les jeux de société mais… ben, je connais pas grand monde ici qui y joue. Est-ce que… est-ce que je pourrais me joindre à vous un de ces soirs ?
Julien : Ah, c’est génial ! Bien sûr que tu peux venir ! Plus on est de fous, plus on rit, hein !
Clara : Vraiment ? Tu es sûr que ça dérangera personne ?
Julien : Mais non, voyons ! Sophie et Maxime adorent rencontrer de nouveaux joueurs. On est toujours à la recherche de victimes fraîches !
Clara : Victimes fraîches ? Ah là là, vous êtes si forts que ça ?
Julien : Disons qu’on a nos petites habitudes… Mais dis-moi, tu connais quels jeux ?
Clara : Ben, les classiques : Monopoly, Scrabble… Et puis j’ai découvert Catan l’année dernière, c’est dingue !
Julien : Catan ! Excellent choix ! On y joue régulièrement. Et tu connais Splendor ? Ou King of Tokyo ?
Clara : Non, jamais entendu parler. C’est compliqué à apprendre ?
Julien : Pas du tout ! En une partie, tu maîtrises. Tiens, pourquoi tu viendrais pas vendredi prochain ? Vers 19h30, on se retrouve ici.
Clara : Chouette ! J’ai trop hâte ! Au fait, vous êtes combien en général ?
Julien : Euh… ben justement, il y a un petit souci. Maxime part en Erasmus le mois prochain, donc on va se retrouver à trois seulement.
Clara : Ah bon ? Mais c’est parfait alors ! Je peux prendre sa place !
Julien : Exactement ! En plus, Sophie m’a dit qu’elle cherchait une fille pour équilibrer le groupe. Elle en a marre d’être la seule !
Clara : Ah, je comprends ! Moi aussi j’aimerais bien avoir plus de copines qui aiment les jeux.
Julien : Au fait, tu préfères les jeux de stratégie ou plutôt les jeux d’ambiance ?
Clara : Bonne question… Les deux en fait ! Ça dépend de l’humeur. Et vous, vous êtes plutôt quel style ?
Julien : On varie pas mal. Parfois on fait du Carcassonne bien stratégique, parfois du Dixit plus créatif…
