Sophie et Thomas se rencontrent pour la première fois au club de photographie de leur université. Sophie vient d’arriver dans la ville pour ses études et découvre les activités proposées par l’association étudiante. Thomas, membre actif du club depuis deux ans, l’accueille et lui fait découvrir les lieux.

Thomas: Salut ! Tu dois être la nouvelle dont m’a parlé Julie, non ? Moi, c’est Thomas.
Sophie: Euh, oui c’est ça ! Sophie. Julie m’a dit que tu pourrais me faire visiter le club ?
Thomas: Avec plaisir ! Alors, dis-moi, qu’est-ce qui t’amène à la photo ? Tu fais ça depuis longtemps ?
Sophie: Ben, pas vraiment… En fait, j’ai toujours adoré prendre des photos avec mon téléphone, mais j’aimerais bien apprendre à utiliser un vrai appareil, tu vois ?
Thomas: Ah chouette ! Tu vas voir, c’est passionnant. Tiens, regarde, voici notre laboratoire de développement. On fait encore du noir et blanc à l’ancienne !
Sophie: Waouh ! Ça sent bizarre ici… C’est normal ?
Thomas: Haha, oui ! Ce sont les produits chimiques. Au début, ça surprend, mais on s’y habitue. Et là-bas, c’est notre coin numérique avec les ordinateurs pour la retouche.
Sophie: Génial ! Moi qui pensais que tout se faisait sur smartphone maintenant… Et vous organisez quoi comme activités ?
Thomas: Oh, plein de trucs ! Des sorties photo le weekend, des concours, des expos… Tiens, justement, samedi on va faire une balade dans le quartier historique. Ça te dit ?
Sophie: Euh… je sais pas trop. Je connais rien à la ville encore, et puis j’ai pas d’appareil photo…
Thomas: T’inquiète ! On peut te prêter du matériel. Et pour la ville, c’est parfait pour découvrir ! Les autres sont super sympas, tu verras.
Sophie: Mouais… J’ai un peu peur de faire n’importe quoi devant tout le monde, tu comprends ?
Thomas: Ah bon ? Mais non, voyons ! On est tous passés par là. Moi, mes premières photos étaient nulles !
Sophie: Vraiment ? Pourtant Julie m’a dit que tu exposais déjà tes œuvres…
Thomas: Ben oui, maintenant ! Mais il y a deux ans, je savais même pas tenir un appareil correctement. Regarde, je vais te montrer mes premiers clichés… Où est-ce que j’ai mis ça… Ah zut !
Sophie: Qu’est-ce qu’il y a ?
Thomas: J’ai complètement oublié ! Le labo est fermé aujourd’hui pour maintenance. On peut pas voir mes anciennes photos…
Sophie: Oh, c’est pas grave ! Et sinon, vous faites quoi d’autre ? Moi j’aime bien les portraits.
Thomas: Parfait ! On a justement un atelier portrait prévu la semaine prochaine. Mais euh… il faut être membre du club pour y participer.
Sophie: Ah… Et ça coûte combien l’adhésion ?
Thomas: Alors là, bonne question ! Normalement c’est 50 euros par semestre, mais… hein, attend, je crois qu’il y a eu des changements…
Sophie: Des changements ?
Thomas: Oui, le bureau a voté une augmentation le mois dernier. Ça doit être dans les 70 euros maintenant… Désolé, j’aurais dû vérifier avant !
Sophie: Soixante-dix euros ! Aïe… C’est un peu cher pour moi en ce moment. Je viens juste d’arriver, j’ai plein de frais…
Thomas: Je comprends totalement ! Écoute, on peut peut-être s’arranger. Tu pourrais venir à la sortie de samedi en tant qu’invitée, qu’est-ce que tu en penses ?
Sophie: Vraiment ? Ce serait génial ! Comme ça, je pourrais voir si ça me plaît avant de m’engager.
Thomas: Exactement ! Et puis, qui sait, peut-être qu’on trouvera une solution pour l’adhésion. Il y a parfois des bourses pour les étudiants.
Sophie: Tiens, ça m’intéresse ! Tu peux me donner plus d’infos ?
Thomas: Bien sûr ! Je vais me renseigner auprès de la présidente. En attendant, on se retrouve samedi à 9h devant la fac ?
