DIALOGUE
Thomas: Salut ma chérie ! Comment ça s’est passé ta… Oh là là, qu’est-ce qui t’arrive ? Tu as une tête de déterrée !
Sarah: Bonsoir…
Sarah: Entre autres, oui…
Thomas: Pas seulement ! Rappelle-toi l’année dernière, quand tu as décroché le contrat Dubois. Tout le monde était sur le cul !
Sarah: Ouais, c’est vrai… Mais là, j’ai vraiment merdé.
Thomas: On a tous des passages à vide. Ça arrive même aux meilleurs !
Sarah: Et s’il me vire ?
Tu arrives toujours à me remonter le moral.

DIALOGUE
Thomas: Hey, sweetheart! How did your… go? Oh my, what’s wrong? You look like death warmed over!
Sarah: Good evening… I’m fine, I’m fine…
Thomas: No, no, you’re not fine at all! I know you-what’s going on?
Sarah: *sigh* Well, let’s just say I’ve had better days…
Thomas: Tell me. Come sit down, I’ll make you a cup of tea.
Sarah: That’s kind, but… uh… I don’t really feel like talking about it right now.
Thomas: Come on, it’s good to get it off your chest. Is it your boss again?
Sarah: Among other things, yes… He called me into his office this morning.
Thomas: Oh? What for?
Sarah: He… he wasn’t happy with the Martineau file. You know, the one I’ve been working on for three weeks.
Thomas: The one you were doing overtime on every night? But seriously, what does he have against it?
Sarah: Apparently it’s not at all what the client expected. Everything has to be redone from scratch.
Thomas: Good grief! But it’s not your fault if the instructions weren’t clear!
Sarah: Exactly… that’s the problem. He says I should’ve asked more questions, been more… proactive.
Thomas: Nonsense! You’re the most conscientious person I know!
Sarah: Uh… Thomas, there’s something else…
Thomas: What is it?
Sarah: Well… he mentioned that… that my performance has been slipping lately.
Thomas: His performance’s the one that’s been slipping! What a nerve!
Sarah: He said we need to have a serious discussion next week about my… my future with the company.
Thomas: Wait, what? Is he threatening you?
Sarah: I… I don’t really know how to interpret it. It’s really making me anxious.
Thomas: Oh, sweetie, come here… *he takes her in his arms* We’ll find a solution, okay?
Sarah: I feel like I’m useless… Maybe he’s right after all.
Thomas: Huh? Come on, stop talking nonsense! You’re a thousand times better than that guy!
Sarah: You’re saying that because you love me…
Thomas: Not just that! Remember last year, when you landed the Dubois contract. Everyone was blown away!
Sarah: Yeah, that’s true… But this time, I really screwed up.
Thomas: We all have our off moments. It happens even to the best!
Sarah: What if he fires me? With the current job market…
Thomas: We’ll manage, don’t worry. And besides, it would give you the chance to look for something that’s a better fit for you.
Sarah: Do you think so?
Thomas: I’m sure! You’ve been complaining about this company for months. Maybe it’s time for a change of scenery.
Sarah: Uh… actually, there’s one more thing…
Thomas: Oh? What now?
Sarah: I… I might have kind of lost it in front of everyone this afternoon.
Thomas: What do you mean by ‘snapped’?
Sarah: Well, when I came out of his office, my colleagues asked me how it had gone and… I broke down in tears.
Thomas: Oh, sweetheart… It’s only human! You were under pressure!
Sarah: Now the whole open-plan office knows. It’s humiliating!
Thomas: No! It just shows you’re human. And I bet your colleagues supported you, right?
Sarah: Actually… Julie and Marc were lovely. They even took me out for a coffee.
Thomas: See? People like you. It’s your boss who’s the problem, not you.
Sarah: Thank you, my love… You always manage to lift my spirits.
Thomas: That’s my job! Come on, let’s order sushi and watch a good TV series tonight?
Sarah: Good idea. I’ll see things more clearly tomorrow.
Thomas: And on Sunday, we’ll go over your CV together – what do you say?
Sarah: Okay… If worst comes to worst, I just need to get ready. Thanks for being here.
Thomas: Always, my love. We’re a team, you and I!
