J’ai adoré quand on a tous chanté “Joyeux anniversaire” à Martin.
Thomas: N’importe quoi !
Lequel ?
Thomas: “Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain”. Tu connais ?
Thomas: Ah, tu as remarqué aussi !
Thomas: Clair !
Léa: Tu as raison !

Léa: So, what did you think of the party? I thought it was pretty nice!
Thomas: Yeah, it wasn’t bad at all! The vibe was really cool. And you, did you have a good time?
Léa: Honestly, yes! I loved it when we all sang “Happy Birthday” to Martin. He looked so moved, didn’t he?
Thomas: Ah, that was touching! But, uh… did you see how embarrassed he was when Sophie gave him that big kiss in front of everyone?
Léa: Haha, yes! He turned bright red! But anyway, you can tell he’s had a crush on her for months…
Thomas: Clearly! So, anyway, what did you like best tonight?
Léa: Well, I really enjoyed chatting with Claire and Maxime on the terrace. We talked about our travel plans for the summer. And that playlist was awesome!
Thomas: Oh yeah, the music was great! Martin has really improved his taste in music. Do you remember his parties from two years ago? A nightmare!
Léa: Oh wow, don’t even get me started! It was nothing but metal and hardcore rock… My ears are still ringing!
Thomas: Exactly! Anyway, tonight was perfect. I even danced, can you believe it?
Léa: Oh, speaking of which! I saw you with Anaïs… You two seemed to get on well, didn’t you?
Thomas: Uh… well, she’s nice. We talked quite a bit, that’s true. Why are you asking?
Léa: Nothing, nothing! I’m just saying she was looking at you in a… how should I put it… interested way!
Thomas: Come on! We were just talking about movies. Besides, she recommended a movie she loved.
Léa: Oh really? Which one?
Thomas: “The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain.” Do you know it?
Léa: Are you kidding? It’s MY favorite movie! That girl really has good taste. You should invite her to go see it with you!
Thomas: Léa! Knock it off… So, anyway, was there anything you didn’t like about this evening?
Léa: Hmm… well, yes, now that you mention it. I thought Kevin had had a bit too much to drink. He got annoying with his lame jokes.
Thomas: Ah, you noticed too! He told the same story about his boss at least ten times. It got annoying in the end.
Léa: Exactly! And he was talking really loudly. At one point, I felt embarrassed for him when he spilled his drink on the table.
Thomas: Darn, that’s true! Luckily Martin handled things well. If I’d been in his place, I’d have been annoyed.
Léa: Martin is always cool in those situations. That’s why we love partying at his place!
Thomas: Right! By the way, did you see the apartment? He’s really redecorated it since the last time.
Léa: Yes! I love what he did with the living room. And that new kitchen – it’s gorgeous!
Thomas: But, uh… I don’t know if you noticed, but the neighbors didn’t seem happy…
Léa: Oh really? What do you mean?
Thomas: Well, when I went out to smoke on the balcony around 10:30 p.m., I heard someone banging on the wall. And loudly!
Léa: Oh no! Do you think we were making too much noise?
Thomas: Maybe a little… Especially when everyone was shouting during the impromptu karaoke!
Léa: Great then! I hope Martin won’t have any trouble with them.
Thomas: I don’t think so. Besides, it was his birthday – he had every right to party!
Léa: You’re right! Well, in the end, I had a great evening. It had been a long time since we’d all gotten together like that.
Thomas: Same here! It feels good to unwind after that intense week at work.
Léa: Totally! Well, maybe we should organize something ourselves soon, right?
Thomas: Good idea! We could have a barbecue on my terrace next month?
Léa: Great! Well, here’s my building. Thanks for walking me home!
Thomas: You’re welcome! Good night, Léa, and thanks for the great evening!
Léa: Good night, Thomas! And don’t forget to send Anaïs a message, okay!
Thomas: Léa! Come on, head home! See you soon!
