Marie et Thomas, deux collègues de travail qui se connaissent bien, discutent pendant la pause déjeuner. Marie vient de recevoir une invitation pour un gala de charité et cherche quelqu’un pour l’accompagner. Thomas semble intéressé, mais il y a quelques complications à régler.

Marie : Dis donc Thomas, tu as des projets samedi soir prochain ?
Thomas : Euh… pas vraiment, pourquoi ? Tu as quelque chose en tête ?
Marie : Ben voilà, j’ai reçu une invitation pour un gala de charité organisé par l’association ” Les Restos du Cœur “. Ça te dirait de m’accompagner ?
Thomas : Ah bon ? Un gala de charité ? Dis-moi en plus, ça m’intéresse !
Marie : C’est au Grand Hôtel, tu sais, celui près de l’Opéra. Il y aura un dîner, des enchères silencieuses, et même un petit concert. Tout l’argent collecté ira aux personnes sans-abri.
Thomas : Chouette ! Ça semble être pour une bonne cause. Et côté tenue, c’est comment ? Il faut s’habiller chic ?
Marie : Oui, c’est ” tenue de soirée exigée “. Hein, tu as un smoking ou un costume sombre au moins ?
Thomas : Euh… là tu me poses une colle ! Mon ancien costume ne me va plus du tout. Il faudrait que j’en achète un nouveau ou que j’en loue un.
Marie : Ah zut ! J’aurais dû te prévenir plus tôt. Mais bon, on a encore une semaine pour s’organiser, non ?
Thomas : Ouais, c’est faisable. Et toi, qu’est-ce que tu vas porter ?
Marie : J’ai une robe longue noire que j’avais achetée pour le mariage de ma sœur. Ça devrait faire l’affaire. Mais dis-moi, combien ça coûte l’entrée ?
Thomas : Bonne question ! Tu ne l’as pas mentionné dans l’invitation ?
Marie : Si si, attends… *elle fouille dans son sac* Voilà ! Alors… 150 euros par personne, et ça comprend le dîner et une coupe de champagne.
Thomas : Aïe ! C’est pas donné ! Mais bon, c’est pour la bonne cause, hein. Et puis ça fait longtemps qu’on n’est pas sortis ensemble quelque part de sympa.
Marie : Exactement ! Et puis, qui sait, on pourrait même participer aux enchères. Il paraît qu’il y aura des œuvres d’art et des voyages à gagner.
Thomas : Tiens, ça c’est tentant ! Mais attention à ne pas se ruiner non plus, hein !
Marie : *elle rit* T’inquiète pas, on fixera un budget maximum avant d’y aller. Alors, c’est d’accord ? Tu viens avec moi ?
Thomas : Oui, avec plaisir ! Mais euh… il y a juste un petit problème…
Marie : Ah bon ? Lequel ?
Thomas : Ben, j’ai promis à ma mère de passer la voir ce week-end-là. Elle revient de voyage et elle m’attend pour le dîner du samedi soir.
Marie : Oh là là ! Ça c’est embêtant ! Le gala commence à 19h30. Tu ne peux pas décaler avec ta mère ?
Thomas : Hmm… je peux toujours essayer de lui expliquer. Elle est assez compréhensive d’habitude. Ou alors, on pourrait peut-être reporter notre dîner au dimanche midi ?
Marie : Ça serait génial ! Et puis, comme ça tu pourras même lui raconter ta soirée !
Thomas : Bonne idée ! Je l’appelle ce soir et je te confirme demain, ça marche ?
Marie : Parfait ! En attendant, je vais réserver nos places. Il faut envoyer la réponse avant mercredi.
Thomas : D’accord ! Et pour le transport, on fait comment ? Tu veux qu’on y aille ensemble ?
Marie : Bah oui, bien sûr ! Je peux passer te prendre vers 19h ? Comme ça on arrive un peu en avance et on peut prendre l’apéritif tranquillement.
Thomas : Super ! J’ai hâte d’y être ! Et puis, ça va être l’occasion de faire une bonne action tout en passant une excellente soirée.
Marie : Exactement ! Allez, je file réserver nos places. À demain pour la confirmation !
