Emma: Parfait ! Samedi après-midi ça me va. On se retrouve chez moi vers 14h ? J’ai tous mes cours bien organisés.
Lucas: C’est génial ! Merci beaucoup Emma, tu me sauves la vie.
On verra selon ton rythme.
Lucas: D’accord.
Lucas: Merci infiniment Emma. Grâce à toi, je me sens déjà moins stressé.
Emma: De rien !
On va cartonner cet examen, tu vas voir !

The situation takes place in the university library on a Thursday afternoon. Emma, a third-year physics student, notices that her classmate Lucas seems to be really struggling with his revision for the quantum mechanics exam. She decides to offer him her help, despite her own time constraints.
DIALOGUE
Emma: Hi Lucas! How are you? You look a bit… uh… overwhelmed by your books there.
Lucas: Oh, hi Emma. Well… to be honest, it could be better. I’m really struggling with quantum mechanics.
Emma: Oh really? But you’re usually pretty good at physics, aren’t you?
Lucas: Yeah, well… the Schrödinger equations aren’t really my cup of tea. And the exam is in a week! I’m starting to seriously panic.
Emma: Listen, if you want, I can help you a bit. I got a 16/20 on last year’s midterm in this subject.
Lucas: Really? You’d do that? But you’ve got your own studying to do, too…
Emma: Well, yeah, of course, but we can work something out. Are you free this weekend?
Lucas: Um… I’m working at the supermarket on Saturday morning, but I’m free in the afternoon. And you?
Emma: Perfect! Saturday afternoon works for me. Shall we meet at my place around 2 p.m.? I have all my notes well organized.
Lucas: That’s great! Thank you so much, Emma – you’re saving my life. By the way, what do you want us to focus on first?
Emma: So, tell me… what’s giving you the most trouble, exactly?
Lucas: Well, first the basic principles. I can’t visualize what those damned wave functions represent.
Emma: Ah, okay. Well, bring your course notes and your exercises. I have really clear diagrams that helped me a lot.
Lucas: By the way, do you know any websites or videos that explain it well?
Emma: Yeah! There’s a great YouTube channel, “PhysiqueFacile”. The instructor explains everything with animations.
Lucas: Great! I’ll watch that tonight. By the way… uh… would you like me to help you with something in return?
Emma: Hm… actually, if you could give me a hand with organic chemistry, that would be great. It’s really not my strong suit.
Lucas: No problem! I love chemistry. We can split our study sessions half and half.
Emma: Perfect! Well then… Darn! I just remembered, on Saturday I promised my mother I’d go grocery shopping with her…
Lucas: Ah… well, we can postpone it until Sunday if you’d prefer?
Emma: No, no, wait… she can perfectly well go by herself, you know! It’s not like I’m her personal secretary.
Lucas: Are you sure? I don’t want you to get in trouble with your family because of me…
Emma: No, don’t worry! My studies come first. And besides, helping a friend is important too.
Lucas: You’re really nice. Tell me, how many hours do you think we’ll need?
Emma: Well, to properly go over the basics… I’d say three to four hours? We’ll see depending on your pace.
Lucas: Okay. Can I bring croissants and coffee to motivate us?
Emma: Good idea! I’ll prepare summary sheets for us. Oh, and don’t forget your calculator!
Lucas: Of course! And… uh… what if I still don’t understand after the weekend?
Emma: We’ll continue next week, no worries. The important thing is that you pass your exam.
Lucas: Thank you so much, Emma. Thanks to you, I already feel less stressed.
Emma: You’re welcome! It’s normal for students to help each other. Okay, see you on Saturday then!
Lucas: See you on Saturday! And thanks again for everything.
Emma: You’re welcome! We’re going to ace this exam, you’ll see!
