Léa : Tiens, ça me rappelle quelque chose…
Thomas : Ouais, Camden, quartier sympa !
Thomas : Chouette ambiance ! Et tu as trouvé la sortie finalement ?
Tiens, d’ailleurs, ça me fait penser…
Thomas : Avec plaisir !

DIALOGUE
Léa : Hi Thomas! So, how was your stay in Berlin?
Thomas : Hey! Great, thanks! And you, your weekend in London? By the way, I have an incredible story about the Berlin metro at night…
Léa : Oh really? Tell me! I’ve also had some weird experiences on the London Tube!
Thomas : Well, you know that over there the metro runs almost all night on weekends? It was great at first, but uh… Saturday night, I had a mishap.
Léa : Wow, what happened to you?
Thomas : I was on the U-Bahn at about 2 a.m., and then, a total breakdown! We were stuck in the tunnel for an hour and a half.
Léa : Oh my! What a nightmare! Was it crowded?
Thomas : What, are you kidding? The carriage was packed with party-goers! At first, the vibe was pretty cool, people were singing, laughing…
Léa : That reminds me… I had some surprises in London too!
Thomas : But wait, I’m not finished! After an hour, some people started to panic. A girl started to cry, a guy was shouting at the driver…
Léa : Darn! And you, what did you do?
Thomas : Well, I tried to calm the girl down in English… uh, I mean, in broken German! She was completely stressed out.
Léa : Ah, that’s nice of you! And in the end, how did you get out of there?
Thomas : The firefighters came to evacuate us through the tunnels. An experience I won’t soon forget!
Léa : Well, I thought my London adventures were worse…
Thomas : Tell me! What’s the London Underground like at night?
Léa : So, first of all, the Night Tube only runs on certain lines. I was staying at a friend’s in Camden, and to get home…
Thomas : Yeah, Camden, nice neighbourhood! And then?
Léa : Well, on Friday night I got home at around 1 a.m. I got off at Camden Town and there… all the exits were closed except one!
Thomas : Oh really? That’s strange, isn’t it?
Léa : Exactly! I went round in circles for twenty minutes in the empty corridors. It was creepy, wasn’t it!
Thomas : Uh, hang on… were you all alone on the Tube?
Léa : No, no, there were a few people, but you know, the late-night vibe… Odd characters, the smell of alcohol everywhere…
Thomas : Nice vibe! And did you find the exit in the end?
Léa : Luckily, a security guard helped me. But the funniest thing is that I ended up going the wrong way!
Thomas : What do you mean?
Léa : Well, I got on the Northern Line going the wrong way! Instead of heading north, I ended up at… uh… Tottenham Court Road!
Thomas : Oh dear! What a blunder! And is it far from Camden?
Léa : Quite far! I had to take the tube back the other way. So I didn’t get home until 3 a.m. instead of half past midnight!
Thomas : We’re quite a pair, aren’t we! But at least Berlin and London have night services…
Léa : That’s true! In Paris, after 1:15 a.m. it’s over. Luckily, there are the Noctiliens!
Thomas : Yeah, but it’s not the same. Night buses are slower and less frequent. Oh, speaking of which, that reminds me…
Léa : Reminds you of what?
Thomas : My sister told me that in Barcelona, the metro closes early too, but on weekends it runs until 2 a.m.
Léa : Oh really? Did she go there recently?
Thomas : Last month. She told me that the atmosphere was great, very festive, but that the pickpockets…
Léa : Oh yes, that’s true! You have to be careful on public transport at night. When I was in London, I hid my wallet!
Thomas : Good call! Well, despite our misadventures, we can say we have some good memories, can’t we?
Léa : Absolutely! And besides, it makes for great stories to tell! Come on, shall we order another coffee?
Thomas : With pleasure! And next time, we’ll travel together, so we’ll get lost together!
Léa : Haha! Excellent idea! Madrid or Amsterdam, what do you think?
Thomas : Amsterdam ! I’ve heard that their night trams are fantastic!
