Marie : Alors Thomas, tu as eu le temps de digérer tout ça ? Moi, j’ai encore du mal à réaliser qu’on était vraiment là-bas !
Thomas : Ah, pareil ! J’ai l’impression de sortir d’un rêve. Franchement, qu’est-ce qui t’a le plus surprise ?
Marie : Euh… ben, au début je pensais que ce serait la montée des marches, tu sais, tout le glamour… Mais en fait, pas du tout !
Thomas : Ah bon ? Pourtant c’était impressionnant, non ?
Marie : Si, si, bien sûr ! Mais ce qui m’a vraiment bluffée, c’est cette rencontre impromptue avec le réalisateur coréen. Tu te rappelles ? Dans ce petit bar à côté du Palais…
Thomas : Ah oui ! Park quelque chose, c’est ça ? Tiens, moi aussi ça m’a marqué ! Il était si… accessible, quoi.
Marie : Exactement ! Je m’attendais à ce que tous ces grands noms soient inaccessibles, dans leur bulle. Et là, il discutait cinéma avec nous comme si on était de vieux potes !
Thomas : Chouette, hein ? Moi, ce qui m’a le plus surpris, c’est… bon, tu vas peut-être me trouver naïf…
Marie : Allez, accouche !
Thomas : Ben, c’est l’aspect business du truc. Je croyais que c’était juste… artistique, tu vois ? Mais en fait, il y a énormément de négociations, de deals qui se font…
Marie : Ah ça ! C’est vrai que dans les cocktails, tout le monde parlait distribution, droits, marchés internationaux… Ça m’a un peu refroidie, d’ailleurs.
Thomas : Vraiment ? Moi, ça m’a fasciné ! Voir comment un film peut voyager, toucher différents publics… C’est tout un écosystème !
Marie : Mmh, je comprends ton point de vue… Dis-moi, et le film de Moreau ? Tu t’y attendais ?
Thomas : Celui sur l’immigration ? Euh… non, franchement non ! Je pensais que ce serait plus… comment dire… consensuel ?
Marie : Consensuel, c’est le mot ! Moi j’ai été scotchée par sa violence, sa crudité. Pas physique, hein, mais émotionnelle.
Thomas : Exactement ! Et le public qui pleurait… Zut, même moi j’ai eu la larme à l’œil !
Marie : Ah, je l’avais remarqué ! *rires* Mais c’est ça qui était beau, cette émotion collective. On était tous bouleversés ensemble.
Thomas : D’ailleurs, ça me fait penser… Tu as vu la réaction de cette journaliste américaine ? Celle qui est sortie en plein milieu ?
Marie : Oui ! Au début j’ai cru qu’elle était malade ou je ne sais quoi… Et en fait, elle ne supportait pas les images !
Thomas : Ça m’a fait réfléchir sur les différences culturelles, tu sais. Ce qui nous touche, nous, Européens, peut choquer ailleurs…
Marie : Tiens, parlant de différences… Moi ce qui m’a surprise, c’est la jeunesse du public ! Je m’imaginais un festival pour… enfin, pour des gens plus âgés, plus… snobs ?
Thomas : Ah ben ça ! *rires* Comme quoi les préjugés… Il y avait des étudiants partout, des jeunes créateurs… L’ambiance était super dynamique !
Marie : Et cette master class avec la réalisatrice japonaise ! Tu pensais qu’il y aurait autant de monde ?
Thomas : Non ! Et surtout pas autant de questions pertinentes. Ces jeunes connaissaient son œuvre par cœur ! Ça m’a un peu fait honte, d’ailleurs…
Marie : Pourquoi honte ?
Thomas : Ben, euh… moi je ne connaissais que son dernier film. Alors qu’eux, ils citaient des trucs de ses débuts que j’avais jamais entendus !
Marie : *rires* Allez, on ne peut pas tout connaître ! Mais c’est vrai que ça donne envie de creuser, de découvrir…
Thomas : Absolument ! D’ailleurs, j’ai déjà commandé trois de ses films. Et toi, qu’est-ce qui t’a donné envie de prolonger l’expérience ?
Marie : La photographie ! Tu as vu ces images du documentaire sur l’Arctique ? Époustouflantes ! Je vais m’inscrire à un cours photo, je crois.
Thomas : Chouette idée ! Bon, et niveau organisation ? Moi j’ai été surpris par… enfin, par certains couacs…
Marie : Ah, tu penses à l’histoire de la projection annulée ?
Thomas : Entre autres ! On était tous là, dans la queue depuis deux heures, et paf ! “Problème technique, reporté à demain”…
Marie : Oui, ça m’a énervée sur le moment ! Mais finalement, on a découvert ce petit cinéma d’art et d’essai, avec ce film brésilien magnifique !
Thomas : C’est vrai ! Et le débat après… Waouh ! Cette passion des cinéphiles locaux ! Ils connaissaient tout du cinéma sud-américain !
Marie : Mmh, au final, c’était peut-être le plus beau moment du festival, non ? Plus intime, plus authentique…
Thomas : Je suis complètement d’accord ! Bon, et maintenant ? On se donne rendez-vous l’année prochaine ?
Marie : Avec plaisir ! Mais cette fois, on se prépare mieux ! Plus de recherches en amont, et on réserve tout à l’avance !
Thomas : Marché conclu ! Allez, on prend un dernier café pour digérer tout ça ?
