Marie et Thomas sont membres du club de photographie de leur université. Ils se retrouvent dans le local de l’association pour discuter du thème du prochain projet collectif que le club doit présenter lors de l’exposition annuelle de la ville. Ils doivent choisir entre plusieurs propositions et convaincre les autres membres.
DIALOGUE
Marie: Salut Thomas ! Tu es en avance, dis donc. Les autres ne vont arriver qu’dans un quart d’heure.
Thomas: Salut ! Ouais, ben j’voulais qu’on discute un peu avant que tout le monde débarque. T’as réfléchi aux thèmes qu’on a proposés la semaine dernière ?
Marie: Euh… pour être honnête, j’hésite encore entre “La ville la nuit” et “Portraits de générations”. Toi, tu penches pour lequel ?
Thomas: Moi, je suis à fond pour “Portraits de générations” ! Imagine un peu : on pourrait photographier des grands-parents avec leurs petits-enfants, montrer l’évolution des modes de vie…
Marie: Mmh, c’est vrai que c’est touchant comme concept. Mais bon, “La ville la nuit”, ça permet plus de créativité technique, non ? Avec les jeux de lumière, les reflets…
Thomas: Ah ben tiens, justement ! C’est ça le problème. Tout le monde fait de la photo de nuit maintenant. C’est devenu super banal, tu trouves pas ?
Marie: Banal ? Hein, tu rigoles ! Regis nous a montré ses clichés du quartier des Halles l’autre jour, c’était magnifique !
Thomas: Ouais, bon, d’accord… Mais écoute, avec les portraits intergénérationnels, on touche vraiment les gens. C’est plus humain, plus émouvant.
Marie: Thomas, sois honnête deux minutes. Tu proposes ça parce que ta grand-mère habite dans cette maison de retraite super photogénique, c’est ça ?
Thomas: Euh… ben… peut-être un peu, mais c’est pas que pour ça ! En plus, mamie serait ravie de participer. Elle adore se faire photographier.
Marie: Ah bon ? Et qu’est-ce qu’elle dirait si on choisissait finalement un autre thème ?
Thomas: Oh là là, elle serait déçue… Elle en parle déjà à toutes ses copines de la résidence !
Marie: Zut alors ! Tu lui en as déjà parlé ? Mais Thomas, on n’a même pas encore voté !
Thomas: Je sais, je sais… J’ai peut-être un peu précipité les choses. Mais bon, c’est pas grave, hein ?
Marie: Ben si, c’est embêtant ! Maintenant, si on choisit “La ville la nuit”, ta mamie va être déçue. Tu m’mets dans une position délicate…
Thomas: Allez, Marie ! Fais pas cette tête-là. On peut peut-être trouver un compromis ?
Marie: Un compromis ? Comment ça ?
Thomas: Ben, on pourrait proposer “Portraits nocturnes” ! On fait des portraits de personnes âgées le soir, dans leurs appartements éclairés…
Marie: Hmm… c’est pas bête, ça ! Ça combine les deux approches. Mais est-ce que les autres vont accrocher ?
Thomas: Justement, voilà Amélie et Kevin ! On va voir ce qu’ils en pensent.
Amélie: Salut vous deux ! Alors, vous avez tranché pour le thème ?
Kevin: Moi, j’espère qu’vous avez pas oublié ma proposition de “Street art et graffitis” !
Marie: Ah euh… Kevin, on était plutôt focalisés sur les deux thèmes qui avaient eu le plus de votes…
Kevin: Quoi ? Mais le street art, c’est super actuel ! Et puis, ça nous ferait sortir des sentiers battus !
Thomas: Écoute Kevin, c’est vrai que c’est original, mais on vient d’avoir une idée qui combine plusieurs approches…
Amélie: Une idée ? Raconte !
Marie: On pensait à “Portraits nocturnes”. Ça mélange l’aspect technique de la photo de nuit avec l’humain des portraits.
Amélie: Chouette ! Ça me plaît bien. Et toi Kevin ?
Kevin: Ben… pourquoi pas. Mais on pourrait pas inclure quelques graffitis en arrière-plan ? Histoire de donner un côté urbain ?
Thomas: Ah, t’es malin toi ! Comme ça, tout le monde y trouve son compte. Qu’est-ce que tu en dis, Marie ?
Marie: Ma foi, si ça peut mettre tout le monde d’accord… Et ta grand-mère, elle accepterait d’être photographiée dans la rue le soir ?
Thomas: Mamie ? Mais elle serait aux anges ! Elle qui se plaint toujours qu’elle s’ennuie…
Amélie: Bon, alors c’est décidé ? “Portraits nocturnes urbains” ?
Kevin: Parfait ! Et on commence quand ?
Marie: Attendez, attendez ! Il faut quand même qu’on en parle aux autres membres qui vont arriver. On peut pas décider sans eux !
Thomas: T’as raison. Mais au moins, on a une proposition solide à leur présenter !
Amélie: Allez, on prépare notre argumentaire alors. Ça va être un super projet !

Marie: Mmm, it’s true that it’s a touching concept. But “The City at Night” allows for more technical creativity, doesn’t it? With the play of light, the reflections…
Thomas: Well, exactly! That’s the problem. Everyone’s doing night photography now. It’s become really overdone, don’t you think?
