C’est un samedi après-midi dans le centre-ville de Lyon. Claire fait ses courses quand elle aperçoit soudain Thomas, son ancien collègue de travail qu’elle n’a pas vu depuis trois ans. Thomas vient d’arriver en ville pour le weekend et n’avait pas prévu de contacter ses anciens amis. Cette rencontre inattendue va les amener à se remémorer le passé et à organiser une soirée improvisée.

Claire : Mais… Thomas ? C’est bien toi ?
Thomas : Claire ! Ça alors ! Quelle surprise ! Comment ça va ?
Claire : Ben dis donc, qu’est-ce que tu fais là ? Je croyais que tu habitais à Marseille maintenant !
Thomas : Eh oui, c’est ça ! Mais je suis monté pour le weekend, j’avais un truc à régler. Et toi, tu as l’air en forme !
Claire : Merci ! Écoute, ça fait quoi… trois ans qu’on ne s’est pas vus ? Depuis ton pot de départ de la boîte !
Thomas : Exactement ! Le temps passe vite, hein. Au fait, tu travailles toujours chez Dubois & Associés ?
Claire : Non, figure-toi que j’ai changé il y a un an. Je suis dans une start-up maintenant, c’est beaucoup plus dynamique !
Thomas : Chouette ! Et sinon, tu es toujours avec… euh… comment il s’appelait déjà ?
Claire : Julien ? Non, c’est fini depuis longtemps ! Et toi, toujours célibataire ?
Thomas : Ben non, justement ! Je me suis marié l’année dernière. Tiens, regarde…
Claire : Oh là là, elle est magnifique ! Félicitations ! Pourquoi tu ne nous as rien dit ?
Thomas : Ben… en fait, j’ai perdu vos contacts quand j’ai changé de téléphone. Vous me manquez, tu sais.
Claire : Ah, quel dommage ! Tu restes combien de temps à Lyon ?
Thomas : Je repars demain soir seulement. Mon train est à 19h30.
Claire : Parfait ! Dis-moi, ça te dit qu’on organise quelque chose ce soir ? Je suis sûre que les autres seraient ravis de te revoir !
Thomas : Tu crois ? Ça ne va pas les déranger ?
Claire : Mais non, voyons ! Attends, je vais appeler Sophie… Elle va faire un bond !
Thomas : Sophie ! Comment va-t-elle ? Elle a eu son bébé finalement ?
Claire : Oui, une petite fille adorable ! Mais bon, elle sort moins qu’avant, évidemment.
Thomas : Je comprends… Et Marc ? Il est toujours aussi fou ?
Claire : Toujours ! Il a monté sa propre entreprise, tu te rends compte ? Lui qui ne savait même pas faire un café !
Thomas : Incroyable ! Bon, et pour ce soir, tu pensais à quoi exactement ?
Claire : Ben, on pourrait se retrouver au Café de la Place vers 20h, et après on aviserait…
Thomas : Euh… en fait, j’ai un petit problème. Je n’ai pas pris de vêtements de soirée, juste des affaires décontractées.
Claire : Mais enfin, on s’en fiche ! On ne va pas à l’Opéra ! Le principal, c’est d’être ensemble.
Thomas : Tu es sûre ? Je ne voudrais pas faire tache…
Claire : Arrête tes bêtises ! Bon alors, je les appelle et je te tiens au courant ?
Thomas : D’accord ! Mais dis-moi, tu as toujours le même numéro ?
Claire : Non, j’ai changé ! Tiens, donne-moi ton téléphone, je vais t’enregistrer le nouveau.
Thomas : Voilà… Claire, tu ne peux pas savoir comme ça me fait plaisir de te revoir !
Claire : Moi aussi ! Allez, je file appeler tout le monde. Tu vas voir, ça va être génial !
Thomas : J’espère juste que ma femme ne va pas être jalouse quand elle saura que j’ai passé la soirée avec mes anciens collègues…
Claire : Oh là là, ne me dis pas que tu es devenu un mari modèle !
Thomas : Disons que j’essaie ! Bon, je te laisse organiser tout ça. À ce soir alors !
Claire : À ce soir ! Et Thomas… je suis vraiment contente qu’on se soit croisés par hasard !
