Camille et Thomas, deux amis de longue date, se retrouvent dans un café pour discuter de l’organisation de l’anniversaire de Camille qui approche. Ils ont des visions très différentes de ce que devrait être une fête d’anniversaire réussie.

Camille : Alors Thomas, tu as réfléchi à mon anniversaire ? J’avoue que cette année, j’ai vraiment envie de faire quelque chose de grandiose !
Thomas : Euh… grandiose ? Tu veux dire quoi exactement ? Parce que l’année dernière, ta petite soirée entre amis proches était parfaite, non ?
Camille : Ben justement ! Chaque année, c’est pareil : on se retrouve à six ou huit, on mange une pizza, on boit un coup… C’est un peu tristounet, tu trouves pas ?
Thomas : Tristounet ? Mais enfin Camille, c’était chaleureux ! On a passé une excellente soirée, on a ri, on s’est raconté nos vies…
Camille : Oui, oui, c’était sympa, mais là j’ai envie de marquer le coup ! J’ai 28 ans, hein ! Je pensais louer une salle, inviter tout le monde, faire appel à un traiteur…
Thomas : Ah bon ? Et ça va te coûter combien, tout ça ? Parce que bon, organiser un truc avec les grands moyens, c’est pas donné !
Camille : Pfff, tu penses toujours au fric, toi ! C’est qu’une fois par an, quand même. Et puis, mes parents ont proposé de participer aux frais.
Thomas : Tes parents ? Mais t’es plus une gamine ! Enfin… je veux dire… c’est pas un reproche, mais tu crois pas que c’est un peu excessif ?
Camille : Excessif ? Thomas, regarde autour de nous ! Sarah, elle a loué un château pour ses 30 ans. Marc, il a organisé un week-end complet en Normandie !
Thomas : Mouais… et ils ont claqué combien ? Sarah, elle s’en remet encore financièrement, si je me souviens bien !
Camille : Bon d’accord, peut-être qu’elle y est allée un peu fort… Mais entre ça et nos petites soirées plan-plan, il y a un juste milieu, non ?
Thomas : Écoute, Camille, moi ce qui me plaît dans tes anniversaires, c’est justement l’ambiance intimiste. On peut vraiment discuter, se retrouver…
Camille : Mais on peut très bien discuter avec plus de monde ! Et puis, ça fait des lustres que j’ai pas vu certains amis. Ce serait l’occasion parfaite !
Thomas : Tiens, parlant d’amis… tu as pensé à Julie ? Elle traverse une passe difficile financièrement. Si tu organises un truc trop chic, elle va se sentir obligée de t’offrir un cadeau hors de prix.
Camille : Oh… Julie… j’y avais pas pensé. C’est vrai qu’elle m’a dit qu’elle galère un peu en ce moment.
Thomas : Voilà ! Et Paul aussi, d’ailleurs. Il vient de déménager, il a des frais énormes. Tu vois, avec une grosse fête, tu risques d’exclure tes vrais amis sans le vouloir.
Camille : Zut, tu marques un point… Mais j’ai quand même envie de faire quelque chose de spécial ! Pas question de rester dans ma routine habituelle.
Thomas : Ben… pourquoi pas un compromis ? Tu pourrais organiser un pique-nique géant au parc, par exemple. C’est convivial, pas cher, et tout le monde peut venir !
Camille : Un pique-nique ? En novembre ? T’es fou ou quoi ? On va tous attraper la crève !
Thomas : Ah oui, c’est vrai… Bon, alors… euh… que dirais-tu d’une soirée à thème chez toi ? Tu décorerais ton appart, chacun amène un plat…
Camille : Hmm… une soirée à thème… Pas mal ! Quel genre de thème ?
Thomas : Je sais pas moi… années 80 ? Ou alors… tiens ! Une soirée déguisée ! Ça, c’est festif sans être ruineux.
Camille : Oh, chouette ! Une soirée déguisée, j’adore ! Et on pourrait faire un concours du meilleur déguisement avec des petits prix rigolos !
Thomas : Voilà ! Tu vois bien que tu peux faire original sans te ruiner. Et tes amis vont adorer, j’en suis sûr !
Camille : Mais attends… mon appart est quand même petit pour accueillir tout le monde…
Thomas : Combien vous seriez en gros ?
Camille : Ben, si j’invite vraiment tout le monde… on doit être une quarantaine !
Thomas : Quarante ?! Mais t’es complètement dingue ! Ton salon fait quinze mètres carrés !
Camille : Bon, bon, d’accord… Je vais faire le tri. Les vrais amis d’un côté, les connaissances de l’autre…
Thomas : Exactement ! Et tu sais quoi ? Pour les autres, tu pourrais organiser un pot au bureau la semaine suivante. Comme ça, personne se sent oublié.
Camille : T’es un génie ! Une soirée déguisée intimiste chez moi, et un pot au boulot. Le meilleur des deux mondes !
Thomas : Ben voilà ! Tu vas voir, ça va être top ! Et au final, tu auras ton anniversaire mémorable sans te mettre dans le rouge.
Camille : Merci Thomas ! Au fait… tu pensais à quoi comme déguisement ?
